Dr. Susan Reinke, DVM
Diplomate American College of Veterinary Dermatology
Dr. Reinke specializes in dermatologic (skin) diseases as well as skin allergies of dogs and cats. She has office hours at Central Animal Hospital on Mondays and Wednesdays - no referral is necessary. Dr. Reinke received her DVM from Washington State University. Her residency in veterinary dermatology at UC Davis was followed by a board certification in veterinary dermatology in 1985. She spent a year teaching dermatology at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. Following her teaching stint in Switzerland, Dr. Reinke began practicing at Madera Pet Hospital in Corte Madera. In 2006, she moved her practice to Central Animal Hospital.
Dr. Reinke lives with her husband, Jerry, a veterinary orthopedic surgeon, on an old dairy farm in Petaluma where they have restored the 100-year-old farm house and outbuildings. They have two grown children and one grandson. When not caring for her patients, Dr. Reinke enjoys horseback riding and tending to her roses. Dr. Reinke has two Quarter horses, 3 orange kitties and an Aussie named Tess.
As of December 1, 2011, Dr. Reinke will no longer be accepting new clients.
She will continue to see existing patients as needed by appointment on Wednesdays only. Please call for availability well in advance due to limited openings to ensure the earliest appointment available.
